I have been needing some serious organization in the way of my blog. A place to keep track of all the giveaways, who I've spoken with about what, what posts I have scheduled, things to buy and do for upcoming posts and so on. So, I decided to create some printables for my official "Blog Planner."

I started off with a dailies page that includes everything you need to plan out each post.

Post Title: This is a place to jot down possible post titles and/or something you have settled on. A great title should be straight to the point and convey exactly what your readers can expect in your post. It should stand out to readers in a sea of other post titles out there.

Thoughts: These are ideas that you would like to include in your post. You can write down keywords, external links to include, notes, and anything else that comes to mind before, during, and after you write a post.

Inspiration: We all know that we find inspiration from our daily lives, shows/movies we watch, other blogs and websites, nature, and the list can go on and on. Here, you would jot down any inspiration that you would like to include in your post or just refer back to when you're stuck. It's just good blog etiquette to include links to other bloggers you have found inspiration from to complete a project. It's not only good for the other blogger, but it makes it easier for search engines to know exactly what you're writing about.

I'm not big on resolutions. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against them as a whole. They're just not for me. It seems like no matter what it is, I can NEVER get close to achieving it. I've done the whole, "don't set the bar too high" thing. And still,... never even close. BUT, I do like a good house organizing and boy, do we need it right it now. Now, I know that most of us can only dream of giving our child a room like this, but these kinds of rooms can definitely inspire us to do something out of our comfort zone. I hope you enjoy and are inspired!

Pottery Barn Kids Hayley bedding/Thomas furniture Girls Room - {Tour}

E went from a crib this year to her "big girl" bed and the Mr. and I have this notion that our children will move out with the furniture we bought them as a child, so we spring for the best quality you can find and where else to get the best quality, but Pottery Barn? So, we spent a pretty penny on her furniture, but I could NOT be any happier with it! I, seriously, love her room. It's on the main floor, so sometimes I go sit in there and "chill" sometimes and I'm still able to hear the kids playing in the living room. I wanted to give you a little tour of what we have so far,...

Here is the view of her room right when you walk in. (I'm standing in the doorway.)

• "Thomas" twin bed from Pottery Barn Kids in Rustic Sun Valley White as well as the nightstand. We used L's old PB Kids guardrail (which is why it doesn't match.) I thought about painting it, but she's almost done with it anyways and so I figured , "neh!" 
• Pottery Barn Kids curtain - I got that on sale a couple years ago, so I was pretty proud of myself. 
• Pottery Barn Kids Curtain Rod Hardware "Flutter" - I love the hardware. It draws your eye up and I think that makes the room look larger.
• Pottery Barn Kids Hayley Bedding - We got the quilt, pink gingham duvet cover, sheets, quilted sham
• Pottery Barn Kids Large Canvas Tote - Great way to hide all her stuffed animals and I think it's really cute too.
• Pottery Barn Kids Knock-Off Butterfly Chandelier and wall decals- I registered for this $100 butterfly chandelier at PB Kids:

And when my mom saw it in the store, she decided she could make it instead. She cut out (with her Cricut) a gazillion butterflies and we ended up with the butterfly chandelier you see above for a fraction of the cost. She also cut out butterfly wall decals using the same butterfly image and contact paper for us and I applied them on the wall like a swarm of butterflies flying around E's room. I'm really happy with the way it all turned out.

Here's another shot of her pretty bed and her butterfly chandelier. I decided to go with cafe style shutters in her room and roman shades for the top half of the windows. our neighbors are very close on all sides and I thought this would give her privacy while still being able to let in a lot of light. Or, she could shut both the shutters and the roman shades and it gets very dark in her room for nap time. When I'm convinced E won't electrocute herself on the lamp she has on her dresser, I'll put that on her nightstand along with some other girly knick knacks.

I started A Woman’s Haven two years ago to give me a place to showcase my love for my family, home, crafting & photography. I also love having a place to share the things that inspire me.
We are currently expecting a new addition to our family. Lately most of my inspiration has been all things baby. Nursery and baby projects are taking up most of my time right now.

Creative Memories Power Sort Box Organized MY Pictures!

Now, that I have spent the last 4 days with on again/ off again electricity, I have decided that slowly baking to death is not a good way to go. The inside of my house was literally 89 degrees at one point. I couldn't even have a cold glass of water from my fridge and every time I walked in to a room and tried to turn the light on, I became increasingly more upset. D works during the day and at nights, so I was also incredibly bored and the only thing I could do was play solitaire on my phone, but even that had to be rationed because I had no way of charging my phone if the battery died. It was like a mini natural disaster. Tuesday night, I decided to take the kids and go stay at my moms house and this decision was made just as the sun was going down. It was like I was packing up the house and leaving because of a flood or something. 


I was like, "Move, move, move! Before it gets too dark outside! C'mon people! Let's go, go, go!"


We all lived, thank goodness, and I'm just so happy to be in my own house, AC cranked, TV on, time displayed on every digital clock in the house, surfing the web, and using every ounce of electricity I can. No, I'm only joking,... well, sorta. ;)


Another form of torture that I did not enjoy was not being able to do anything crafty. I have so many things on my list and absolutely zilch was created the past 4 days. (Sniffle)


Yesterday and today I did work on organizing my pictures, though. I bought this awesome Power Sort Box from Creative Memories and I transformed this:

I organized everything by date and it makes me smile when I look at it. On the back of pictures I wrote the date, who is in the pix, and the event and I also put all the photo CD's, misc. memorabilia, greeting cards, and anything else all in this great sort box.

Laundry Room Organization

Friday, my little guy (I mean my big guy) got to go to a soccer clinic. We signed up halfway through the session so when we got there the other kids were dribbling, shooting, slide tackling and practically doing bicycle kicks with ease. I told L that he was to go run around, listen to his coaches, and above all else, have fun. 


Now, before we go any further I should give you some background on my kid. He is a little OCD and I'm pretty sure I did this to him. Sorry, baby. Even when he was an infant he was very interested in making everything just right. He enjoys lining up his cars by make and model and has mini meltdowns when his sister opens the kitchen drawer and takes out all the towels. I secretly worry that he will end up like that Jack Nicholson character in As Good As It Gets. No, I'm just kidding. Well, sorta...


While all the other kids, including my friends daughter (below), were playing with the ball and doing this:

My kid wasn't really interested in all that soccer mumbo jumbo. Bless his sweet little heart.

"Wow, what are these? Hmmm,... plastic coney things."

"These need to be organized in some fashion."

"Perhaps a single file line."

"Yes, I can see it coming together now."

"This is gonna be so cool."

"Someone say my name? No,--- back to my line."

I called him over, told him we were here to kick around the ball and sent him on his way. Like a good boy, he went and sat with the rest of the kids. I was expecting something spectacular out of of this kid any second. Now, I don't know much about soccer, but I'm almost positive there is not this much organizing involved. Then, I looked over and saw him do this:

"You gonna use this?"

"That's better."

Then, the line of perfectly arranged cones followed him all around the field. Weird.

"Okay, let's go."

He's strange, but I wouldn't have him any other way.

Alright, now for business. After visiting Target for my "Craft Closet Stuff" I was inspired to redo my laundry room and so I also got "Laundry Room Stuff." (I'm not really sure why I decided to capitalize and quote that, but it's probably because the "stuff" is so stinkin' cool.) When we moved in, almost 2 years ago, D installed these laundry room cabinets and I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do with them.

After, I went to Target and then went back to Target a couple more times, this is what I came up with:

Ta da! Much more functional and way prettier, too. I do have one teensy weensy problem, though. What do you think I should do with that little niche in front of the window? Do you think I should just leave it the way it is with nothing there or do you think I should put something on that shelf? If so, what should go there? I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions. Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend!
