So, for as long as I have been making cards, or even buying cards for that matter, I have never had an organized way of storing them. At one point, I had them thrown in a drawer, other times it was a basket, or even the latest and (not so) greatest, my Ziploc bag.
Sheesh!
Oy!
To find anything, I had to dump the entire bag out and rummage. Yes, you heard me, rummage. Rummage threw my greeting cards that I had spent countless hours on gluing, tying bows on, glitterifying (I know, that's not a word) and so on. It wasn't fair, to me or the cards. I knew something had to be done. They needed a more permanent dwelling. I saw a box at Target that I knew would be perfect and last night after the kids went to bed, I tackled this mess.
After about an hour and a half, this is what I could proudly display as my new, functional card box.
So purdy!
I took the Sweet Stack with Glitter by DCWV and picked the paper I thought would go best with the color of the box and cut that down to 5 1/2" squares and then used my Round Tab punch by Stampin' Up! to make the tabs with coordinating colors. I wrote the labels on with a white uni-ball Signo Gel Pen. Ta-Da! I don't know why it took me so long to finally do this. Duh!
First, Ami over at AliLilly featured this post about E's 1st Birthday Party and she just said the absolute nicest things. She has such an awesome blog with scrumptious recipes, home decor ideas, beautiful jewelry and so much more. Check her out, she is amazing!
Then, Childmade: An Idea Place featured this recipe on my Oreo Cookie Ladybugs. "You'll find a huge selection of inspirational ideas with links to articles and tutorials for all sorts of projects." This is a super useful site if you have kids and, really, even if you don't have kids, because it's a fun site where the stuff is just so stinkin' cute!
It just puts this little warm feeling in my heart that people enjoy and are inspired by something on this blog. Thank you so much to both of you and to everyone that has left me a comment, I thank you, too.
Yay, great job on being featured on other blogs!! : ) You are going to love your newly organized cards, that's how I do mine. It is just so much easier to find the one you want...but I still like to rummage thru them sometimes!! lol!!

Hi Courtney,
ReplyDeleteI am in a Group with your Mom (FrugalScrappers)
and I learned about your Blog through her.
I was looking at your newly organized laundry
cupboards and I like the new look. By the looks
of your Blog and your creations you seem to like
whimsy (I do). And I was thinking that you could
hang a miniature clothes line with cutsey clothes pins and various items hanging from the clothes line in front of the window. Let me know what you think? Hugs, Fran
