The car ride up there takes about 6 hours. At one point, the kids were both getting a little antsy so we decided to take some silly pictures.
Watching her brothers' photo shoot tuckered out E so she fell asleep. Not for long, though. L started poking her with a Thomas Train and 10 minutes later, she was awake again.
E is still in one of those gargantuan life jackets that has the big flap on the back with a handle. The thing looks anything, but comfortable, so when we have to squeeze her in this wretched thing it's so sad. She goes from this:
Happy Boat Baby |
To this:
Mad Boat Baby |
That's D trying to pull the part that cuts in to her face away from her so it's a bit less uncomfortable. Not working too well. Then, when she's so tired of crying and being mad she finally does this:
Sleeping Boat Baby |
Then, she wakes up, we tell her we're heading home for dinner and a nap and she looks like this:
Excited Boat Baby |
She did really well, though. Considering we strapped a device to her that, for all she knew, was trying to suffocate her. She handled it well.
Okay, on to crafty endeavors. A friend of mine was having a baby shower and I wasn't really sure what I was going to get her, but I knew whatever it was, it had to be packaged cute. I saw these tin buckets at target in the dollar section (are you seeing a trend here?) and knew exactly what I would do.
I took the tin bucket and put a vinyl decor sticker made by Stampin' Up! on it and Voila! A super cute tin that the momma can reuse for storage in the baby room.
I also thought it would be cute to stick the paper plane on the back. I rolled up some onesies, pants, and a sweater and stuck those in the bucket with a cute little book and paired it with a handmade onesie card. The momma loved it and I was really happy with the way it turned out, too.
Here are some more pix from our trip:
